FireWire Cables - IEEE 1394

FireWire cables provide a serial bus interface for high-speed data transfer. This is the Apple version of the IEEE 1394 interface for audio-visual component communication and control. The standard started in Apple’s internal research in the late 1980s. Apple presented the standard to the IEEE who finalized it in 1995. Today, these cables are very common as interfaces between digital video recording devices and computers. The cables handle transfer rates better than USB cables, but come at a higher price.

If you need a reliable video transfer cable, you need to invest in FireWire cables. In order to get the best cable for your particular application, you need to know the number of pins on each end of the connection you need to make. Pins usually come in four, six, or nine on a connection end. For example, if you have a 4-pin connector on one end and need a 9-pin on the other, you need a 4-pin to 9-pin cable. We offer all combinations in lengths ranging from 2 feet up to 15 feet.
