DisplayPort Cables
DisplayPort cables are one of the latest standards for PC to video displays. This display standard emerged from the Video Electronics Standards Association in mid-2006. The first manufacturers started selling product in 2008. The idea behind this cabling is to replace the older VGA and DVI standards. The DisplayPort protocol is similar to the HDMI, but not expected to replace it. Computer manufacturers are already moving to adopt DisplayPort and HDMI as the standard for PC displays by 2015.
If you have a new computer or monitor, you may need DisplayPort cables. We offer lengths from 1.5 feet up to 10 feet. We also offer DisplayPort to DVI converters. This allows you to start upgrading some equipment without replacing everything at once. The cabling handles both audio and video signals. It provides signals up to 1080p resolution. This new protocol also expands the color range into the billions over older protocols.
